Some really interesting and extremely irritating stuff this month. Does humanity ever grow up? Doesn’t look like it.
A few things I’ve noticed:
- Social media – Bots don’t notice anything.
- Politics is the new Spandex. Short shelf life, all image, no substance.
- Ignorance is a currency.
- A lot of important science is barely mentioned.
- AI for the clueless doesn’t make them any smarter.
- Meh.
Op-Ed: Dark oxygen – Future value far higher than just picking up a few rocks This is extremely important stuff.
Op-Ed: Genetic enhancements for space travel. So what? Dumb, dumber, and this.
Op-Ed: Mills and Gen Z aren’t having kids. Any questions? This is a huge economic and social disaster.
Op-Ed: The slow, murderous dripping tap of AI culture disguised as news Hype and nothing but hype. They don’t get the tech.
Op-Ed: The guy who cleaned up the supercluster since Jan 6 pulls out. Now what, geniuses? The treatment of Biden by the Democrats was a total disgrace.
Op-Ed: President Vance? Don’t be too surprised. The guy means business. Vance is a true politician. He’s a lot more savvy than his party and donors.
Op-Ed: Psychedelics ‘change your mind’ long-term? Yes. Another urban myth, this time it’s right
Op-Ed: Neatness vs clutter — The practical war nobody seems to win Haven’t written anything like this for years.
Op-Ed: Trump shooting — What now for the election? It’s not looking good. A good bit of showmanship, but 2 weeks later he’s reminded everyone how much they loathe him.
Op-Ed: Politics, schmolitics — America vs reality Self explanatory.
Op-Ed: Lacklustre Democrat campaign – Both America and Biden deserve more respect As above.
Op-Ed: AI moves into defense in Australia — The piece of string just got a lot longer This is defence acquisition Australian style. Fortunately, it’s also a pilot setup.
‘Save A Fox Rescue’ YouTube channel hack ‘replaces’ channel with SpaceX Russia attacks animal rescues now? Spasibo, sabakalikovitchi.
Op-Ed: French polls show far-right got less than a third of the vote The right always claims more support than it actually has.
Op-Ed: When do politics ever have anything at all to do with the real world? Maybe never? Broad spectrum; politics is the cause of all the problems. Politics and crime, as though there was a difference.
Op-Ed: Climate change apparently hasn’t noticed that it doesn’t exist — June 2024 hit 5 billion people hard. The obvious strikes again.
Op-Ed: America the Heedless and the necrosis of SCOTUS SCOTUS is well past use by date.
