Update April 2024

Some fun writing this stuff and a bit more creative. I’m trying to rid myself of the impression that I’m simply stating the obvious. Try sneaking up on yourself when writing with something at least halfway decent. It’s fun.

Note: Not interested in the politics on the subject of Trump. The legal issues are far more worrying.

Op-Ed: The 2024 Republican campaign that isn’t — Cliches from Trump and that’s all.

Op-Ed: SCOTUS is writing its own future with the Trump immunity case

Op-Ed: Social media — Rich, annoying and irresponsible vs regulation You have to wonder why billionaires think they’re in touch with anything.

Op-Ed: Last gasp of stupidity — An American civil war as a serious topic America tends to ape its media. This is a particularly stupid idea. Put those two together.

Op-Ed: The baffling state of Trump’s vast legal issues — What’s actually happening?

Op-Ed: Converting CO2 into electricity — Too big to miss This is extremely useful technology. It could solve a lot of issues, lower CO2 and deliver useful portable tech.

Op-Ed: Is Iran talking itself into a nuclear confrontation with Israel it can’t win? Probably. I really don’t think it’s asking too much of the Middle East to haul its sorry butt into the modern age.

Op-Ed: The War on Tobacco — Yet another gift to organized crime It could never work, it hasn’t worked and it will never work. Therefore, it’s a Prohibitionist law.

Op-Ed: Can a convicted person run for President? Yes. Guess what else?

Op-Ed: AI humor — What’s new? Not much. Praise the witless and pass the big budgets! Hardy har har.

Op-Ed: Influencers – Social media fruit flies, or what? If  you’re the influence which has produced the last 24 years of idiocy, “fruit fly” might be flattery, mightn’t it?

Op-Ed: Neurodivergence — A term to excuse misunderstanding humans? The norm is the lowest common denominator, as usual. That’s not good enough, and anyone who can read and write should know that.

Op-Ed: America the sort-of solvent — 1929 may do a fatal encore This is looking very ugly indeed.

Op-Ed: Antarctica temperature up 38.5C — Unexpected rise is game-changer Basic thermodynamics.

Op-Ed: Killing the world with college fees – Generation Debt and Doubt loses again Arguably the dumbest thing a technological society could do is refuse to make training accessible. You deserve whatever happens as a result.

Op-Ed: Ukraine, NATO, and Russia – The lines are drawn, years later “Agility” isn’t the word that springs to mind when discussing Western strategy, is it?

Op-Ed: What’s A.I. doing in your life right now? Good question. Do you expect an answer? This idiot level AI is nothing compared to what’s coming, and it’s already a problem.
